Anne and Jack went with their parents, a doctor and professor, to Mindoro to help the Mangyans. Both children learned a lot especially when they befriended Ambo, one of the young Mangyans. Ambo is an expert hunter and poet. Anne and Jack's visit of the mountain made them realize the dangers that the Mangyans face everyday.
